The Eva Mae Gregoire Memorial Foundation proudly presents the Iberia Parish Student Choice Awards, a community-centered celebration that honors the educators who make a lasting difference in the lives of students and families.Too often, some of the most impactful teachers go unrecognized in traditional award systems. The Student Choice Awards were created to give students, parents, alumni, and community members a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the teachers who inspire, encourage, and change lives every day.This initiative is rooted in one simple belief: the people most affected by great teachers should have a voice in honoring them.
Why the Student Choice Awards Matter
Teachers do far more than teach lessons. They build confidence, create safe spaces, encourage perseverance, and often become some of the most influential people in a student’s life. The Iberia Parish Teacher Appreciation Student Choice Awards was designed to:

Student Choice Teacher of the Year
Recognizes an educator whose overall impact has been exceptional.
Heart of Gold Award
Honors a teacher who shows extraordinary kindness, compassion, and care.
Excellence in Teaching Award
Celebrates a teacher who makes learning clear, engaging, and effective
.Most Inspiring Teacher Award
Recognizes an educator who motivates students to believe in themselves and reach higher
Community Champion Award
Honors a teacher who builds strong relationships with families, students, and the broader community.
Difference Maker Award
Celebrates a teacher who has made a deep and lasting impact on a student’s life.
Bright Light Award
Recognizes a teacher whose positivity, joy, and energy brighten the school environment.
Rising Star Award
Honors a newer educator who has already made an outstanding impression.
How Nominations Work
Nominating a teacher is quick and easy.
Nominators will complete a nomination form that includes:

Teacher’s name

An explanation of why the teacher deserves recognition

Identification of whether the nominator is a student, parent, alumni, or community member
Our goal is to make the process simple, respectful, and accessible so that as many voices as possible can participate.
How Winners Are Selected
For judged award categories, winners will be determined through a fair review process that considers:

Fan Favorite Voting
In addition to the judged award categories, the public will also have the opportunity to participate in the Fan Favorite Teacher Award. This special recognition is determined by community voting and gives supporters an exciting way to celebrate their favorite educator while also supporting a meaningful cause.
